Diamedica Therapeutics

DiaMedica is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on treating acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and cardio-renal disease. Their recombinant protein replacement therapy, DM199, is intended to restore healthy levels of human tissue kallikrein-1 (KLK1) in AIS patients.

We’ve collaborated with DiaMedica on various projects, helping them communicate their novel science to audiences, both digitally and at in-person events.

Our ongoing relationship with DiaMedica has allowed us to develop an thorough understanding of their science, brand voice, and style which is represented by consistent messaging across their marketing materials. This knowledge, combined with our science and marketing expertise, helped us create a compelling 4-minute video animation explaining the DM199 mechanism of action. We also crafted materials for their presentation at the American Heart Association 2024 International Stroke Conference, including a presentation poster, 8-page booklet, and a booth backdrop showcasing their planned clinical trial.

This booklet for Diamedica Therapeutics, illustrates the role of Kallikrein 1 (KLK1) in vascular homeostasis. It details the pathway leading to Bradykinin (BK) production, its binding to the BK2 receptor, and the subsequent production of nitric oxide and prostaglandins, leading to blood vessel dilation. The pages also show how DM199 enhances this pathway in ischemic conditions to improve collateral circulation in the brain.
This scientific poster, for Diamedica Therapeutics, outlines the design of their randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled adaptive study evaluating DM199 for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (ReMEDy2 trial). It includes illustrations of brain arteries under different conditions (normal, ischemic, ischemic with DM199), the study design, population, endpoints, and analysis plan.
